Emergency Food Bank

The Emergency Food Bank Stockton/San Joaquin (EFB), founded in 1968, is the largest direct provider of emergency food in San Joaquin County. Recognized as the 2021 California Nonprofit of the Year, and the 2024 Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year, the EFB serves an average of 425 households daily (Monday - Friday) at our Main Pantry on Scotts Avenue. We also provide FREE nutrition classes on healthy eating, meal planning and food preparation. Beyond direct services, we supply food to partner pantries, nonprofit organizations and community events across the County. We recover surplus food from grocery stores, farmers and food processors - diverting it from landfills - and serve as a job training site for individuals.
